| Item Description | This tenugui features a running white horse and scenic landscape, finished with gold foil to create an auspicious design. The white horse is considered a symbol of purity, good fortune, and auspicious omens, and is cherished as a lucky motif for New Year celebrations and other festive occasions. An auspicious sign or phenomenon, such as fortunate events or symbolic animals, is called a “kicchō” (good omen). It refers to indications of upcoming good fortune, prosperity, or positive outcomes. Display images are for illustrative purposes only. Frames are not included. The foil-pressed tenugui uses gold-colored aluminum foil dyed onto the fabric. Because the foil does not peel off when washed, it can be used like a regular tenugui and is well regarded for its symbolism of “good fortune that does not fade.” This item features both dye processing and gold foil printing. |
