| Item Description | The packaging has been updated for hook display. The “Foil-Pressed Tenugui” uses gold-colored aluminum foil that is dyed onto the fabric. Because the foil does not peel off when washed, it can be used just like a regular tenugui. Its long-lasting gold finish is also considered auspicious and has been well received. The phoenix is a mythical sacred bird appearing in Chinese and Japanese legends, symbolizing peace and prosperity. It is known for its beautiful feathers and elegant form. Phoenix designs often feature long tail feathers, outspread wings, and vibrant colors. The flowing lines and delicate feather details create a refined, dynamic look. Because phoenix motifs are considered auspicious, they are popular as gifts and celebratory items. Notes - As this is a handmade product, slight variations in size may occur. - Due to the nature of the dye, some changes in color and slight bleeding may appear. Please enjoy these as part of the charm of hand-dyed items. - When ironing, use a low temperature and place a cloth over the fabric. - Traditionally, both edges of a tenugui are left unfinished to allow faster drying and for hygiene purposes. With use and washing, the fabric naturally tightens, and any fraying will stop after a few millimeters. - When ironing, to avoid damaging the gold foil, always use a press cloth and set the iron to low temperature (80–120°C / 176–248°F). |
