Unlike ordinary prints, the foil does not peel off even after washing, making it practical for daily use as a tenugui. Because the gold remains intact, it is also considered auspicious, making it popular as both a functional item and a lucky charm. It can be displayed as a decorative piece or given as a thoughtful gift or souvenir. This design features the white snake, a traditional symbol of good fortune and prosperity, surrounded by peonies and wisteria, which beautifully adorn the grounds of Kanesawa Suijin Shrine. With use and washing, the fabric naturally tightens, and any fraying will stop after a few millimeters. |
