Item Description | The Chōjū-Jinbutsu-Giga (Scrolls of Frolicking Animals and Humans), a National Treasure of Japan, is a famous ink painting scroll preserved at Kōzan-ji Temple in Kyoto. Often referred to as the origin of Japanese manga, these charming animals—depicted with exceptional brush technique—have remained beloved across centuries. This furoshiki is designed in a horizontal scroll format, echoing the shape of the original handscroll artwork. Each of the four corners features different characters and colors, so the appearance changes depending on how it is wrapped—adding playful variation to every use. The fabric has a light, smooth touch with a subtly textured, linen-like surface. It is ideal for wrapping bento boxes, covering books, or presenting small gifts. This is an officially certified product of Kōzan-ji Temple, and comes with a paper band featuring the temple's authentication mark. |
