description Product Description
This piece is one of the prints from “Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji” by Katsushika Hokusai.
It is believed to depict the area near the gorge known as Usagino-se (“Rabbit’s Back”), located south of Kajikazawa, facing the Fuji River.
The composition is especially striking—the triangular shape formed by the fisherman, the jutting rock, and the casting net mirrors the silhouette of Mount Fuji in the background, creating a harmonious and visually refined design.
The first edition of this print was done entirely in aizuri-e (blue ink printing), and it is considered one of Hokusai’s finest works in this style.
