description Product Description

This Foil-Stamped Tenugui is crafted with aluminum-based golden foil, dyed directly into the fabric. The foil will not peel off even after washing, making it suitable for everyday use as a tenugui. Because the gold never "falls off," it is also considered highly auspicious, symbolizing prosperity and good fortune. It is well-loved both as a decorative charm and as a thoughtful gift or souvenir.
The Daruma's face design carries special symbolism:
The eyebrows are shaped like cranes,
The mustache and beard resemble turtles.
In Japanese tradition, cranes and turtles are long-revered symbols of longevity and good fortune, expressed in the saying "Cranes live for a thousand years, turtles for ten thousand."
With its enduring gold finish, this tenugui is believed to bring luck and ensure wealth never disappears ("gold never falls"). An auspicious and elegant item, it makes a meaningful decoration or gift for any occasion.
The pattern is faintly visible on the reverse side, adding to its refined handcrafted charm.

Notes
- As this is a handmade product, slight variations in size may occur.
- Due to the nature of the dye, some changes in color and slight bleeding may appear. Please enjoy these as part of the charm of hand-dyed items.
- Colors may transfer if exposed to water, sweat, etc. Please wash separately.
- When ironing, use a low temperature and place a cloth over the fabric.
- Traditionally, both edges of a tenugui are left unfinished to allow faster drying and for hygiene purposes. With use and washing, the fabric naturally tightens, and any fraying will stop after a few millimeters.
